Ani, or An (Asomtavruli: ; Nuskhuri: ; Mkhedruli: áÂÂ; Mtavruli: á²Â; ) is the 1st letter of the three Georgian scripts.
In the system of Georgian numerals, it has a value of 1. Ani represents an open central unrounded vowel , like the pronunciation of in "father". It is typically romanized with the letter A.
An additional mkhedruli ani letters, áÂÂàwith an umlaut, áÂÂàwith a macron and áÂÂÃÂàwith both umlaut and macron are used in Svan language.
