In the classification round on 30 July 1996, they lost to Puerto Rico but recorded their only win of the competition in the 11th-place play-off on 2 August 1996 against South Korea.

In the seventh-place play-off on 1 August 1996, they recorded their only win of the competition against the hosts, the United States.
