Anatoly Yarovyi (born 1 April 1982, Rivne) is an attorney-at-law, human rights and criminal lawyer, and Partner at the law firm Collegium of International Lawyers.
In 1999, Anatoly Yarovyi graduated from the Rivne Regional Boarding Lyceum. In 2004, he earned his law degree from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 2013, Anatoly completed advanced humanâÂÂrights training at the Center for Human Rights and International Justice at Stanford University.
From June 2004 to October 2010, Anatoly Yarovyi served in the ProsecutorâÂÂs Offices of Rivne city and Kyiv region. In 2006, he interned in criminal justice in The Hague, studying the workings of the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and the European Court of Human Rights. Between September 2009 and January 2011, Anatoly was an associate professor in the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology at the National Academy of ProsecutorâÂÂs Office of Ukraine.
In October 2010, Yarovyi began practicing as an advocate with ëAleksandrov & Partnersû. From 2011 to 2013, he worked in private companiesâÂÂBC Toms LLC and Landkom UA LLC. Between November 2012 and March 2017, he ran his own advocateâÂÂs practice. In 2017, Anatoly Yarovyi joined ëVasyl Kisil & Partnersû as an attorney and also completed an internship at the European Court of Human Rights. Since October 2018, he has been a partner at ëCollegium of International Lawyersû.
Yarovyi has represented clients in numerous highâÂÂprofile cases. He defended the former Deputy Finance Minister in a misuseâÂÂofâÂÂKyotoâÂÂProtocol funds case and represented clients in the ambulance procurement case linked to the Tymoshenko government. In 2020, Yarovyi defended clients in NABU investigations concerning Ukrzaliznytsia and Energoatom. He also represented victims of the ëHeavenly Hundredû in trials over the Euromaidan shootings.
Anatoly Yarovyi is coâÂÂauthor of the scientificâÂÂpractical commentary to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. In 2012, he represented foreign investor Alpcot Agro in a major assetâÂÂrecovery case valued at approximately USDâ¯10â¯million.
In 2020, Yarovyi provided defense in cases investigated by the NABU, including those involving PJSC âÂÂUkrzaliznytsiaâ and NNEGC âÂÂEnergoatom.âÂÂ
In 2021, he was one of the candidates for the position of judge at the European Court of Human Rights from Ukraine.
He also participated in cases concerning the mass killings during the events of the Revolution of Dignity, representing the victims in cases related to the shootings of the âÂÂHeavenly Hundredâ activists.
Anatoly is the author of numerous publications, including on Ukrainska Pravda, focusing on judicial and law enforcement reforms. His articles also address pressing socio-political issues in society through the lens of human rights and the rule of law.
He is a member of the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine, the International Bar Association, and the Interpol Workersâ NGO.
