In nature, aminoacetaldehyde is produced by oxygenation of taurine catalyzed by taurine dioxygenase, which produces the sulfite H<sub>2</sub>NCH<sub>2</sub>CH(OH)SO<sub>3</sub><sup>âÂÂ</sup>.
