Aiyede (Yoruba: ÃÂiyèdè) is a rural village in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. It forms part of the Okun-speaking region of Kogi State and is listed among the settlements in the Yagba South-East district of the local government area.
Aiyede is located at approximately 8ð07â²00â³N 5ð42â²00â³E within a tropical savanna landscape (Köppen climate classification Aw). The village lies southwest of Isanlu, the administrative centre of Yagba East LGA. It is situated near localities such as Ogbom and Jege, with elevations in the surrounding area of about 350 to 400 metres above sea level.
The economy of Aiyede is primarily agrarian. Residents engage in small-scale farming, producing crops such as yam, cassava, grains, cashew and palm produce. Livestock rearing, including goats and poultry, also contributes to local livelihoods, alongside minor artisanal activities.
The village is inhabited mainly by the Okun Yoruba people and reflects customary Yoruba cultural practices. Christianity is the predominant religion, alongside elements of traditional beliefs. Community leadership is headed by the Oba of Aiyede, operating within a traditional chieftaincy system.
Aiyede is connected to nearby communities by laterite roads that link to regional routes within Yagba East. Basic amenities include access to electricity, mobile telecommunications coverage and public primary and secondary schools that serve residents of the village and surrounding area.
