Aeshnoidea is a superfamily of dragonflies that contains two extant families, Aeshnidae and Austropetaliidae.

The paracymatophlebiid â Sinocymatophlebia and the indeterminate aeshnoid â Propecymatophlebia <small>Huang, Nel & Cai, 2017</small>, known from the Middle Jurassic of China, represent the oldest known crown group dragonflies.
