Acheiria

Acheiria is the congenital absence of one or both hands.

Causes

It can occur in a number of situations which include:

• Amniotic band syndrome, particularly if unilateral
• Cornelia de Lange syndrome
• Fetal hydantoin syndrome
• Incontinentia pigmenti
