Abà « Zayd al-Dabà «së; he is Abd AllÃÂh, or Ubaid AllÃÂh ibn Umar ibn âÂÂêsa al-Dabà «si al-BukhÃÂrë Hanafë al-Qadë (); a founding jurist and most eminent scholar of the Hanafë school in the eleventh century. His reputation for learning was proverbial. He established the science of dialectics supporting his analysis and argument on examples extracted from scripture. He composed several taalëkas. Among his writings were AsrÃÂr ('Mysteries') and the Takwëm lil Adilla (âÂÂsystem of demonstrationsâÂÂ) . Ad-Dabà «si died in the city of Bukhara in 430 AH / 1038âÂÂ9.
The name Dabà «si derives from the town Dabà «siya, which lies between BukhÃÂra and Samarkand, and from where a number of scholars hailed.
