Abà « âÂÂAbd al-RaḥmÃÂn âÂÂAbd AllÃÂh ibn Ḥabëb ibn RabëâÂÂah al-Sulamë () was a blind ḥadëth narrator and qÃÂriþ (QurâÂÂÃÂn reciter) born during the lifetime of the Islamic prophet Muḥammad. His father, Ḥabëb ibn RabëâÂÂah As-Sulamë, was a companion of Muḥammad. Abà « âÂÂAbdir-RaḥmÃÂn As-Sulamë is thought to have died in either or , in Bishr ibn MarwÃÂn province in Al-Kà «fah.
Abà « âÂÂAbdir-RaḥmÃÂn was known to have discussed the QurâÂÂÃÂn with Tajwëd, an ability he gained from âÂÂUthmÃÂn, âÂÂAlë, Zaid ibn ThÃÂbit, AbdullÃÂh ibn MasâÂÂà «d, and Ubayy ibn KaâÂÂb. He taught âÂÂAá¹£im ibn Abin-Najà «d, Yaḥyàibn WathÃÂb, âÂÂAá¹ÂÃÂâ ibn As-SÃÂâÂÂib, AbdullÃÂh ibn âÂÂêsàibn âÂÂAbdir-RaḥmÃÂn ibn Abë LailÃÂ, Muḥammad ibn Abë Ayyà «b, âÂÂÃÂmir Ash-ShaâÂÂbë, and IsmÃÂâÂÂël ibn Abë KhÃÂlid. Beginning in the caliphate of âÂÂUthmÃÂn ibn âÂÂAffÃÂn, he held classes showing the recitation of the QurâÂÂÃÂn to individuals in the Great Mosque of Al-Kà «fah for many years until his death. Abà « âÂÂAbdir-RaḥmÃÂn As-Sulamë never took payment for such recitations of the QurâÂÂÃÂn.
