ADRIANA is a selective ñ2B-adrenergic receptor antagonist. It is described as highly selective over the ñ2A- and ñ2C-adrenergic receptors. The drug stimulates norepinephrine release in the spinal dorsal horn and has potent analgesic effects in rodents and non-human primates. It is orally active. ADRIANA was first described in the scientific literature by Masayasu Toyomoto and colleagues in 2025. It is said to be the first selective ñ2B-adrenergic receptor antagonist to have been developed.
