The preliminary round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualification tournament will decide the six teams which advance to the group stage of the qualification tournament. The preliminary round consisted of the twelve lowest-ranked teams among the 54 entrants, and will be held from 25 to 31 March 2026.
The twelve teams were split into six ties which were played in home-and-away two-legged format.
South Sudan won 4âÂÂ1 on aggregate.
Burundi won 8âÂÂ0 on aggregate.
0âÂÂ0 on aggregate; Somalia won 4âÂÂ2 on penalties.
Lesotho won 2âÂÂ1 on aggregate.
Eritrea won 4âÂÂ1 on aggregate.
Ethiopia won 4âÂÂ0 on aggregate.
