The 2013 Iowa State Cyclones football team represented Iowa State University as a member of Big 12 Conference during the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Paul Rhoads, the Cyclones compiled an overall record of 3âÂÂ9 with a mark of 2âÂÂ7 in conference play, placing in a three-way tie for seventh the Big 12. The team played home games at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa.
The Cyclones played in record setting temperatures: the hottest Jack Trice Stadium game at against Northern Iowa on August 31, and the coldest Jack Trice Stadium game at for kickoff and by the start of the second half against Kansas on November 23.
On December 1, 2013, offensive coordinator Courtney Messingham and running backs coach Kenith Pope were fired from their positions.
