The 2005 Virginia Cavaliers football team represented the University of Virginia as a member of the Coastal Division in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Al Groh, the Cavaliers compiled an overall record of 7âÂÂ5 with a mark of 3âÂÂ5 in conference play, placing fifth in the ACC's Coastal Division. Virginia was invited to the Music City Bowl, where the Cavaliers defeated Minnesota. The team played home games at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia.
