The 2002 Florida Gators football team represented the University of Florida as a member of the Eastern Division in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) during the 2002 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by first-year head coach Ron Zook, the Gators compiled an overall record of 8âÂÂ5 with mark of 6âÂÂ2 in conference play, placing second in the SEC's Eastern Division title. Florida was invited to the Outback Bowl, where the Gators lost Michigan. The team played home games at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus.
