2-Hydroxy-1-naphthoic acid is an organic compound with the formula C<sub>10</sub>H<sub>6</sub>(OH)(CO<sub>2</sub>H). It is prepared by carboxylation of 2-naphthol by the KolbeâÂÂSchmitt reaction. It is one of several hydroxynaphthoic acids.
