- 5 June â The Executive Yuan Academy passed the nomination of Lien Chan as a member and chairman of the Taiwan Provincial Government, and passed the nomination of Wu Den-yih as Mayor of Kaohsiung. Then, also asked the Taiwan Provincial Assembly and Kaohsiung City Council to exercise their right of consent.

- 21âÂÂ22 July â The Min Ping Yu No. 5540 transports 76 mainland Chinese from Yilan County, Taiwan to Pingtan County, Fujian. Twenty-five Chinese die of suffocation during the journey.
