The 1989 Purdue Boilermakers football team represented Purdue University as a member of the Big Ten Conference during the 1989 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by third-year head coach Fred Akers, the Boilermakers compiled an overall record of 3âÂÂ8 with a mark of 2âÂÂ6 in conference play, placing eighth in the Big Ten. It was Purdue's fifth straight losing season. The team played home games at RossâÂÂAde Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana.
