The 1988 Florida State Seminoles football team represented Florida State University as an independent during the 1988 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by 13th-year head coach Bobby Bowden, the Seminoles compiled a record of 11âÂÂ1 with win in the Sugar Bowl over Auburn. Florida State played home games at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.
Defensive back Deion Sanders was a Heisman Trophy finalist, finishing in eighth place.
