The 1976 Texas Longhorns football team was an American football team that represented the University of Texas as a member of the Southwest Conference (SWC) during the 1976 NCAA Division I football season. In their 20th year under head coach Darrell Royal, the team compiled an overall record of 5âÂÂ5âÂÂ1, with a mark of 4âÂÂ4 in conference play, and finished fifth in the SWC. This was Royal's final year as head coach.
