The 1951 Cincinnati Bearcats football team was an American football team that represented the University of Cincinnati as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) during the 1951 college football season. In their third year under head coach Sid Gillman, the Bearcats compiled a 10âÂÂ1 record and won the MAC championship. Dick Forbes in The Cincinnati Enquirer called it the Bearcats' "greatest season of all time"
Key players included halfbacks Frank "Dix" Anthony and Jack Gordon, quarterback Gene Rossi, fullback Bob Dougherty (the "Bellevue Bulldozer"), ends Ralph Staub and Dick Jarvis, and guard Bill Shalosky.
The team was ranked No. 34 in the 1951 Litkenhous Ratings.
The team played its home games at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
