Playing as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the team was led by head coach Robert Neyland, in his 17th year, and played their home games at ShieldsâÂÂWatkins Field in Knoxville, Tennessee. They finished the season with a record of four wins, four losses and two ties (4âÂÂ4âÂÂ2 overall, 2âÂÂ3âÂÂ1 in the SEC).
