Illinois was won by incumbent President Franklin D. Roosevelt (DâÂÂNew York), running with Secretary Henry A. Wallace, with 50.97% of the popular vote, against Wendell Willkie (RâÂÂNew York), running with Minority Leader Charles L. McNary, with 48.54% of the popular vote.
The primaries and general elections coincided with those for other federal offices (Senate and House), as well as those for state offices.
